I am Tlingit (Alaska Native) and Hawaiian, among other things (just in case you didn't know). I am very blessed with an amazing son, who keeps me on my toes. I moved to California for my Masters degree in 2000, and never intended to stay...but here I am. Still here, and perpetually "adjusting".

The greatest life lesson I have learned is that you need to live the life you are given, laugh at yourself, love more than is wise, and truly experience every single moment, because you never know when that last moment will arrive.

I am a Human Services consultant and also an Indian Child Welfare Expert Witness in the State of California. I enjoy the work I do, and hope that I can continue to do the consulting work I do for a very long time. I feel that it is important to do work you enjoy, and that allows you to also spend quality time with family. That is my aspiration is to have a satisfying career and home-life balance, where I can dedicate my time to my amazing son.

Life is too short to take yourself so seriously. I ♥ anything that makes me smile, laugh, or think. Comedy Shows, Movies, Live Music (DMB), sporting events, and things that make my heart go pitter-pat.

Criminal Minds, Friends, Weeds, Californication, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Ghost Whisperer, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and 90210.

ANIMAL HOUSE!!!!! (Filmed at UO of course) Into the Wild, The Soloist (the cellist in me was in tears), Across the Universe, Music and Lyrics, Dogma, (Anything by Kevin Smith really) Juno, Girl Interrupted, Dance Me Outside, Smoke Signals, Thunderheart, Life is Beautiful, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink.

(Books....OK, so I'm not a reader...but...here goes) Lone Ranger and Tonto a Fistfight in Heaven...anything by Sherman Alexie is a good start. I also love to read non-fiction of all sorts, anything in psychology, sociology....the "ologies" in general. :) Of course...if I can find a book with good humor (and that's on Kindle), I'm in heaven!

Live life fully while you're here. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Learn from your mistakes, don't try to be perfect, just be an excellent example of being human.
